Charlotte Mylin Winters, passed away peacefully the afternoon of June 23, 2016 at the age of 90 years. She had resided for 61 years in her home on Winter Hill Road in Strasburg Township. She had been staying at her daughter’s home at her time of death. Charlotte was born in Southern Lancaster County to John and Lottie Mylin. She was one of 7 children. Along with her parents, her siblings; Jean Mylin King, William Mylin, John Mylin, and Richard Mylin all preceded her in death. She is survived by her sisters Doris (Mrs. William) Biechler and Grace (Mrs. Carl) Rook. Charlotte graduated from West Lampeter High in 1943 and was given the title “class artist”. She was the wife of Robert J. Winters who passed in 2015. She was the loving mother to her daughter Barbara, the wife of Robert C. Rush. Charlotte had 3 grandchildren; Robert C. II married to Christine Walters Rush, Matthew married to Marla Boehm Rush, and Peter married to Tasia Sunderland Rush. Charlotte was an attentive grandmother to her 6 great grandchildren, Andrew, Madison, Mason, Tristan, Caylee, and Grace who she loved dearly. Charlotte was very active at Zion United Church of Christ in New Providence all of her married life. She had taught Sunday school, produced a church newspaper using her gift as an artist, taught and attended Bible Studies and helped prepare and serve countless meals at the church. She was actively involved in DAR, Alpha Club, Eastern Star, Jobs Daughters, Circle A Club, Town Club, and many bridge groups. For over 30 years she worked at Armstrong World Industries in the accounting department. Charlotte loved to play cards and was a very accomplished “Bridge Player”. As of the past week she got together with the “girls” to play bridge. In the years passed she enjoyed square dancing with her husband and making family gatherings fun. Her trademarks were, never give a “dare” and making the best chicken corn soup and cheese balls. There was never a guest in her home that wasn’t offered her “treats and gab”. Charlotte made everyone feel at home.
