Betsy Jo Sinclair Hess of Peach Bottom died at home on Sunday, May 25, 2014. She was 68. Mrs. Hess was the daughter of the late Joseph E. and Betty Graybill Sinclair and the stepdaughter of the late Elizabeth Agne Sinclair. She graduated from Solanco High School in 1963 and was a homemaker in her earlier years. Mrs. Hess and her husband operated Fulton Market, Wakefield, for more than 13 years. She then worked as head seamstress for Yorgeys and Fillings Cleaner until she retired in 2010. She was an active member of Little Britain Presbyterian Church for 50 years. Mrs. Hess was an accomplished seamstress who liked to sew in her spare time. She was a member of the Sewing Network, Lancaster.
She enjoyed spending time with her family. Mrs. Hess is survived by her husband of 50 years, Dennis E. Hess; two children, Michael L., husband of Robin Greer Hess of Drumore, and Susan R., wife of Mark E. Lancaster of Peach Bottom; six grandchildren, Kerri, Michael, Hailey, Evan, Morgan, and Montana; two great-grandchildren, Rhylee and Daniel; four sisters, Jeanne, wife of Edwin Pruitt, Nancy Stauffer, Sara, wife of Jim Hess, and Janice Martin; two brothers, Larry, husband of Sherri Grimm Sinclair and J. Edgar, husband of Sandy McGee Sinclair; and her stepbrother, Melvyn, husband of Suzi Thomas Agne. Two brothers-in-law, Garry Stauffer and John Martin, are deceased. Services were private with a traditional burial in Little Britain Presbyterian Church Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at Little Britain Presbyterian Church, 255 Little Britain Church Rd., at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 7, with Pastor Thomas P. Milligan officiating. The family will greet friends at a luncheon at the church following the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice and Community Care, P.O. Box 4125, Lancaster PA 17604 or Helping Hands Fund in care of the Little Britain Presbyterian Church. Arrangements were made through Reynolds Funeral and Cremation Services, Quarryville.
