Margaret Virginia Stehman Ringer, known as “Ginny,” 87, formerly of Strasburg Township died November 10, 2016 at Lancaster General Hospital. Born in Strasburg Township, she was the daughter of the late William H. and Gertrude Eckman Stehman. She was the wife of the late Reverend Lester L. Ringer. Surviving is a daughter Margaret, wife of Dr. Kent V. Flinchbaugh and grandson, Andrew. Dora E. Shelley, 82, of Quarryville, died Wednesday evening, November 9, 2016 at the Lancaster General Hospital. Born in Florin, PA she was the daughter of the late William G. and Vera E. (Sieders) McGarvey. Dora was the wife of Earl R. “Bud” Shelley who preceded her in death in December of 2015. Dora grew up in Florin and attended Mount Joy High School. After graduation she married her high school sweetheart, Bud. Soon after, Bud was drafted into the Air Force. They lived on bases on Pittsburgh and Maine until Bud was sent overseas. Their first son was born during his deployment. After Bud’s discharge, they went on to have three more sons. While Bud went into teaching, Dora stayed home to raise her sons. Jere L. Charles, 76, of New Providence, entered into rest on Tuesday, November 8, 2016 following a lengthy illness. Born in New Providence, he was the son of the late David and Edna (Johnson) Charles. He and his wife, Glenda (Richwine) Charles, had celebrated 49 years of marriage in January. Following high school, Jere served his country in the US Army in Korea. He worked and retired from High Steel Structures after 35 years. Jere enjoyed watching high school and college wrestling, NASCAR, football and soccer. He especially enjoyed the times he spent with his grandchildren and attending their events. Woodworking was also one of his passions. Charlene E. Fischer, 84, of Quarryville PA, passed away at the Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community on November 4, 2016. “Chars”, as she was lovingly known died peacefully surrounded by her family. A remarkable magical moment occurred just a day before she died as she responded to an hour of live, beautiful music played by a harpist sent through Caring Hospice Services. Born in Westview, PA, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Eleanor (Thompson) Ehrenfried. She was the wife of the late, William R. Fischer, Jr., they had spent 57 years together. Dale E. Neideigh, of Maple Shade Road, Kirkwood, died Sunday, November 6, 2016 at home. He was 71. Mr. Neideigh was born in Lancaster, son of the late Arthur W. and Arlene Boozer Neideigh. He and his wife Judith E. Barth Neideigh celebrated 50 years of marriage in January of this year. Dale was a self-employed remodeling contractor. He enjoyed old cars and his grandchildren and great grandchild. He was a Vietnam veteran, he served his country in the US Air Force. Shelby W. Lowe, 50, Nottingham, entered into rest on Friday, November 4, 2016 at her home. Born in Jennersville, she was the daughter of Ruth E., wife of John Fuller and the late William W. Bare. She was married to John Kenneth Lowe for over 30 years. Shelby is also survived by a daughter, Rachel, wife of Wayne Reynolds of Nottingham. Shelby was a 1984 graduate of Solanco High School. She had served as the secretary for West Nottingham Twp. for several years. She loved horses, painting, and taking drives with her husband in their 1969 Camaro. Jessica L. (Ehlers) Sarlo, 39, of Kirkwood, PA passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, November 2, 2016. She was born in West Chester, PA on October 17, 1977 to Lisa Campbell and William Love. Jessica was the wife of the late Charles Sarlo, III. Jessica loved her girls dearly, God and music. She had a bright and cheery spirit and enjoyed helping others. Donald “Donny” C. Crothers, 66, of Rising Sun, MD, passed away peacefully on November 1, 2016 surrounded by his family. Born on April 20, 1950 in Wilmington, DE, he was the son of Mary Alice (Brown) Crothers and the late Alfred Thompson Crothers, Jr. Donny was the owner and operator of a dairy farm, called Long Green Farms, in Rising Sun, MD, which has been in the Crothers Family for over 250 years. He was a member of various farming and community organizations. Donny had a passion for farming and loved family activities. Spc., Devon Joseph Coward, of Peach Bottom, passed away unexpectedly on Oct. 31, 2016 as the results of injuries sustained in a BMX bike accident. He was 19. Born in Dover-Foxcroft, ME, he was the son of Eric Page of Maine and Kristin Jacobson Page and her companion, Ashley L. Keys of Peach Bottom. Devon worked for Donnelley Printing Co. and was a 2015 graduate of Solanco High School. Devon served in the PA Army National Guard. He loved BMX freestyle biking, playing guitar, and hanging out with his friends. Shirley A. Musacchio, 83, passed away at St. Anne's Retirement Community, West Hempfield Twp., on Monday, October 31, 2016 with her family present. She was the loving wife of the late Antonio A. Musacchio for 18 yrs. prior to his passing in 2003. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Charles M. and Mary Emma (Rhoades) Shenk. She attended school through the ninth grade, working during war time to help her family. She was employed at the former Hubley's Toys and the Little Britain Elementary School, Solanco School District. Most of her life Shirley was a loving mother and homemaker to her family. |
