Robert W. “Bob” McMullen, Jr., 71, of Quarryville, passed away on August 16, 2022 at his home after a 15-month courageous battle with lung cancer. He was the beloved husband of Debra J. (Rineer) McMullen, with whom he shared 42 years of marriage. Born in West Chester, he was the son of the late Robert W., Sr. and Betty (Saylor) McMullen. Bob was a graduate of Solanco High School, class of 1969. Following high school, Bob made a career working in the produce department of Ferguson & Hassler Supermarket at three different locations, most recently serving as produce manager, retiring with 52 years of service. Franklin D. “Frank” Phillips, 83, of New Providence, entered into rest on Tuesday, August 16, 2022. Born in Lancaster County, he was the son of the late Burris and Esther (Stuart) Phillips. He was the loving husband of Norma (Kreider) Phillips for 58 years. Frank graduated from Solanco High School and went on to serve in the United States Marine Corps. He retired from Chrysler Corp. in Newark, Delaware after 35 years of employment. Frank enjoyed being outdoors; hunting, fishing and gardening. He loved spending time with family. In addition to his wife, Frank is survived by 3 children: Jeffrey Phillips (Toni), Nicole Martone (John), and Shannon Andriese (Brian). Also surviving are 3 grandchildren: Cortni, Trevor, and Selah; a great grandchild, Haili; a brother, Elmer Phillips and a sister, Barbara Fisher. Betty Lou Johnson, age 80 of Willow Street, passed away on Tuesday, July 26, 2022 at her home. She was the wife of the late John E. Johnson who passed away on October 21, 2008. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Ross and Betty Farmer Shaub. Fred A. "Eif" Graham, age 78, of Gap, PA, passed into the Lord's arms on Tuesday, August 16, 2022. He was the husband of Barbara A. Franklin Graham, with whom he would have celebrated 59 years of marriage on October 19th. He was born in Coatesville, son of the late George E. Jr. & Elaine Ammon Graham. He was a member of the Mechanic Grove Church of the Brethren. He graduated from Octorara High School class of 1962. He worked for the former Service Star of Parkesburg, for 30 years retiring in 2000 and then worked for Stoltzfus Farm Service of Cochranville. Eif enjoyed all sports especially golf, baseball, always a NY Yankees fan and bowling. He enjoyed travelling, spending time with family and watching old Westerns. Steven Jeffrey Butt, age 64, of Lancaster, passed away on Sunday, August 14, 2022 at Hospice and Community Care, Mt Joy. He courageously fought pancreatic cancer for 8 years. He was the husband of Dana Shaffer Butt for nearly 39 years. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Ervin E. and Anna Mary Cicero Butt. Steve attended Victory Church, Lancaster. He worked in food service sales for Clark Associates for over 30 years and loved his customers, many who became friends. He enjoyed going to the cabin and hunting, riding his motorcycle, and being the family carpenter, remodeling his own home and doing many house projects for his 3 daughters: Anna wife of Kristopher Reiff of Lancaster, Stacy wife of Shane Hess of Willow Street, Corinne wife of Jared Martin of Leola. Bennie M. Kauffman, age 67, of 1165 Bartville Road, Christiana, passed away on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at home.
He was the husband of Emma S. Esh Kauffman. Born in Nine Points, he was the son of the late Samuel S. and Sarah Esh Kauffman. Bennie was a member of the Old Order Amish Church. Linda Hammaker, 66, of New Holland, passed away on Monday, August 15, 2022 at her sister, Kate Coleman’s home in Quarryville. Born in Kirkwood, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Geraldine (Ross) Hammaker. She was the loving companion of Michael Carr, Sr. of New Holland. Linda retired from Treehouse Foods in Lancaster after 33 years of employment. She was an avid bingo player and she loved to travel, especially to Tucson, Arizona to visit family. On several occasions she visited Mexico and Patagonia Lake. In addition to her companion and sister, Linda is survived by two brothers, George (Barbara) Hammaker and Lloyd (Ann) Hammaker. Also surviving are nieces, nephews and cousins. Judith (Babe) Ann Bonifacino Parry, 69, of Oxford passed away peacefully on Friday, August 12, 2022, at her home surrounded by her family. She was the loving wife of William O. Parry with whom she shared 50 years of marriage. Born in West Chester she was the daughter of the late Ernest F. and Julia Perrone Bonifacino. Judy was employed with Concord Land Planners and Surveyors, Oxford for 35 years. Judy enjoyed gardening, her annual family Wildwood beach trip, spending time at the pool and traveling with her husband. Most of all being with her family at the family farm and enjoying her grandkids. Lifelong member of the Sacred Heart Church, Oxford. Edward Charles “Ed” Jimerson, 84, of Quarryville, formerly of Levittown, passed away on Friday, August 12, 2022 at Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community. He was the beloved husband of Mary Ann (Head) Jimerson, with whom he shared 62 years of marriage. He was also the beloved father of Joanne Jimerson McDade, Carin Sue McLean, and Edward Charles Jimerson, Jr. Born in Wildwood, NJ, he was the son of the late Edward J. and Doris E. (Lindholm) Jimerson. Ed was a graduate of Pennsbury High School, class of 1955. In 1992, he retired from the U.S. Postal Service as a Letter Carrier, with 38 years of service. Ed proudly served his country as a military policeman in the U.S. Army during peacetime from 1959 to 1965. David B. Cornelia, 88, formerly of Ronks, passed away following a lengthy illness at Moravian Manor, Lititz, PA on Thursday, August 11, 2022. He and his wife Lynda Myers Cornelia celebrated 32 years of marriage. Born in Dover, NJ, he was the son of the late Floyd and Elsie Brown Cornelia. David started his working career as a dairy farmer in Cherry Valley, NY for 30 years, upon moving to Pennsylvania he then worked as a carpenter for Murry and Sons, and lastly in the maintenance department at Rockvale Square. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Strasburg where he served as a trustee and former custodian. He was a member of Strasburg Lions Club and Strasburg Sertoma Club. |
