William G. “Bill” Reinhart, 81 of Quarryville, PA died Friday, August 14, 2015 at Masonic Homes, Elizabethtown, PA. He and his wife, Betty A. Griffith Reinhart celebrated 31 years of marriage. Born in Lancaster County, he was the son of the late Forrest and Ida Rice Reinhart. Bill retired from Whitelock & Woerth after 35 years of service as a fuel truck delivery man. He was a member of Middle Octorara Presbyterian Church. Bill also served his country as a peacetime veteran in the US Army. Kenneth G. Winters, 70, of the Masonic Village, Elizabethtown, entered into rest on Wednesday, August 12, 2015. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Lester and Lillian (Eshleman) Winters. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Wanda (Evans) Winters. Ken was a life-long contractor and had worked for Marvin C. Evans Construction in Quarryville. He was a member of Zion U.C.C. in Strasburg. He was an avid NASCAR and Jeff Gordon fan and also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time at “Evans Acres” the family cabin. Ken was president of the former Beaver Valley Lions Club. He restored furniture in his free time and was fond of his Cocker Spaniel “Sandy”. Edgar F. Greenleaf of Kirkwood died at Lancaster General Hospital on August 12, 2015, following a brief battle with cancer. He was 78. Mr. Greenleaf was born and raised in Kirkwood, a son of the late C. Martin Sr. and Sadie Herr Greenleaf. He was a graduate of Solanco High School. Mr. Greenleaf held sales management positions with J.I. Case and Field Queen corporations before founding Ag-Industrial Equipment in Rising Sun, Md., in 1976. Vincent Jones of Willow Street died on Wednesday, August 12, 2015. He was 93. Mr. Jones was born in Martic Township, a son of the late Henry Vincent and Anna Alexander Jones. He lived in Holtwood before moving to Willow Street. He worked as a control room operator at the Safe Harbor Power Plant until he retired. After retiring, he worked as an electrician for several electrical contractors. Mr. Jones enjoyed reading and hunting. Douglas R. Hughes, 49, of Gordonville, went to be with his dad in Heaven unexpectedly on Saturday, August 8, 2015 at the Lancaster General Hospital. Doug was born in Lancaster, the son of Sandee (Whirt) Hughes of Gordonville and the late Richard B. Hughes. Doug was extremely fond of music and played drums in several local bands. He also enjoyed classic cars and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family. Margaret J. Jamison, 94, of Nottingham, passed away on Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at Jenners Pond, West Grove. She was the wife of the late C. Leonard Jamison. Margaret was born in Philadelphia, PA. She was a member of the Nottingham Presbyterian Church. Margaret was employed by with J.M.B. Markets and formerly employed with Herr Foods, Inc., Nottingham. She was a self-taught musician and played by ear the piano, organ, accordion, mouth organ, the fiddle and the guitar. Leon H. “Lee” Graubard, 82, of Kirkwood entered into rest on Saturday, August 8, 2015 at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center. Born in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late Harry L. and Diane Graubard. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Nancy Wood.
Lee served with the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He went on to join and eventually retire from the U.S. Army. He was a Philadelphia Eagles fan and enjoyed hunting and the outdoors. Mildred Jeanell Wilson, 73, of Quarryville, passed away on Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at her home. She was the wife of Curtis Wilson with whom she shared 56 years of marriage. Born in Roanoke, VA, she was the daughter of the late Jewell and Yvonne Baldwin Buttrey. She was attended New Providence Baptist Church. One of Millie’s greatest joys was spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed spending time with friends at White Oak Campground listening to bluegrass music. Barbara Joan Shuler, known to her loved ones as “Sissie,” 82, passed away peacefully in her Clearwater, Florida home on June 23, 2015. Born in Elkton, MD, a daughter of the late Ira and Esther (Conrad) Shuler. Barbara was progressive for her generation and attended Goldie-Beacom College. Her career began as Secretary for the Base Commander at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD. Barbara had a successful career as the Executive Secretary to the President of Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Communities, and retired after thirty years of service. Following retirement she moved to Clearwater, Florida. |
