Martha Louise Eller, 71, of Peach Bottom, PA went to be with her Lord and Savior on May 14, 2021 at Lancaster General Hospital. She was the wife of Robert W. Eller. Born in Chester, PA she was the daughter of the late Donald Kenneth and Ethel Martha Germer Kleinz. A homemaker, Martha was an active member of Wrightsdale Baptist Church, volunteering for many church functions. A Sunday school and Bible School teacher, she loved teaching the kids about God’s word and loved telling them about our Lord Jesus. As a daughter, she took care of her parents to the end. As a mother, she was always there for her kids in every way, and as a grandmother she enjoyed watching her grandchildren while their parents worked, assisting them with their homeschooling and teaching them music and to play the piano. On Friday, May 14, 2021, Linda L. Kreider went home to be with the Lord. Born in 1949, she was a life- long resident of Lancaster County. Linda was the daughter of the late Richard and Pearl McClellan Gerlitzki. She had four siblings, Shirley Schaum, Richard Gerlitzki (deceased), Carol Reed, and David Gerlitzki. She was married to James L. Kreider for 33 years. After retiring as a bookkeeper, she enjoyed volunteering in the community at the Community Closet, Solanco Food Bank and working at the polls on election day. Linda faithfully served for a number of years with the Wesley Women’s Society at Wesley Church. She also helped to organize and distribute toys for the Solanco Toy Drive for 17 years. Aquilla L. King, age 69 of 535 St. Catherine Drive, Quarryville, passed away on Friday, May 14, 2021 at the Lancaster General Hospital.
He was the husband of Sarah L. Stoltzfus King. Born in Paradise, he was the son of the late David B. husband of the late Mary Lapp King and the late Elsie Fisher King. Aquilla was a member of the Old Order Amish Church. Deborah B. Herr of Quarryville went home to be with the Lord at Lancaster General Hospital on Wednesday, May 12, 2021. She was 71. Born in West Chester, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Shirley Brown. Debbie graduated with Honors from Henderson High School. She received a scholarship to attend Chester County Hospital School of Nursing, where she served as President of her class. It was on a blind date that she met her faithful and loving husband, Kenneth H. Herr. Three months later they were engaged and through many trials stayed true to their wedding vows for the last 50 years. Wanting to serve her country, she signed up for the US Army, but along came her first child and in those days, was told to stay home. Debbie went on to be a Registered Nurse at Lancaster General Hospital, St. Joseph Hospital, Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community, Willow Valley, and Village Vista. She volunteered as assistant school nurse at Smith Middle School. Elizabeth Jane "Libby" Moore, 93, of New Providence, passed peacefully at home on Tuesday evening, May 11, 2021. Born in Strasburg, she was the daughter of the late Levi and Leah (Shissler) Devonshire. She had been married to the late Harold H. Burns and the late Donald Moore. Libby was a graduate of the former East Lampeter High School. She had worked as a store manager for Food Fair in Colonia, NJ and had also been a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion Post # 471 and a deacon at First Presbyterian Church both in Iselin, NJ. Libby had most recently been a member of Wesley Church in Quarryville. She enjoyed traveling extensively throughout the United States. Frances J. "Fran" Smith, 74, of New Providence died Sunday, May 9 at Lancaster General Hospital5/13/2021
She was the beloved wife of Roland F. Smith, Jr., with whom she shared 50 years of marriage. Born in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth Elliott Metzger and the late Bernadette Alexine Hutton. Fran was a graduate of Southern High School in South Baltimore, class of 1964. Over the years she worked at a bank and a dentist office, but the majority of her employment was as a school bus driver, first in Baltimore County, and most recently for Shultz Transportation in Willow Street. Fran had a love for children. It was hard to separate her from a newborn. She and Roland served as foster parents and over the years they helped raise 26 foster children. Fran was a devout Christian. Her love of the Lord was #1 in her life. She was a member of Wrightsdale Baptist Church, serving as a Sunday School teacher and regularly volunteering for children’s activities. Elizabeth Ann Gaus, age 71, passed away on November 20, 2020. Born on October 30, 1949 in Newark, NJ, she was the oldest of four children born to Pasquale and Laura LaFragola. Elizabeth married Charles Gaus, the love of her life, in November 1976. After graduating from Matawan Regional High School, Elizabeth started college at the University of Miami, then transferred to Rutgers University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in zoology. In her 40s, Elizabeth returned to Georgian Court University to get a second degree in accounting. Benjamin S. Miller, age 73, of 2019 Smyrna Road, Paradise, passed away on Monday, May 10, 2021.
He was the husband of Arie K. Glick Miller. Born in Bird in Hand, he was the son of the late Elam and Rachel Stoltzfus Miller. Benjamin was a member of the Old Order Amish Church. J. Earl “Duke” Keys, 81, of Quarryville passed away Friday, May 7, 2021 at Hospice and Community Care, Mount Joy. He was the husband of the loving and devoted wife of Deborah Myers Keys with whom he shared 36 treasured years. Born in Oxford, he was the son of the late William and Lona Miller Keys. He was a member of the Nottingham Missionary Baptist Church. Earl was self-employed as a truck driver for J. Earl Keys Trucking. He enjoyed dirt racing with his sons, Jim and Ron and his best friends, Dean Price and Ed Kirk. He also enjoyed Harley Davidson motorcycles, RVing, NASCAR, and driving his Corvette. He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Jamie Keys of Manhattan, NY and Tracy Forino (Jason) of Quarryville; two sons, Jim Keys (Helen) of Oxford and Ron Keys (Karen) of Perryville, MD; nine grandchildren, Brian Keys (Sherry), Brittany Keys, Jimmy Keys III, Jordyn Keys, Erika Hassel, Mikayla McCamant, Ian McCamant, Matthew Forino and Gabrielle Forino; three great-grandchildren, Roni Keys, Jaci Keys and Carly Jean; one brother, Charles “Bill” Keys of Nottingham; and one sister, Patricia Temple (Eddie) of Oxford. Lorraine (McComsey) Lamparter, 83, of Quarryville, entered into rest peacefully on Sunday, May 9, 2021 at home with her family by her side. Born in Quarryville, she was the daughter of the late Sides B.F. and Suzanna (Stoner) McComsey. She was married to the late William C. Lamparter for 55 years at the time of his passing in 2016. Lorraine was a graduate of Quarryville High School. In earlier years, she worked as an operator for Commonwealth Telephone. She then went on to work for the Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community in Medical Records for over 18 years. She was a life-long member of Memorial United Methodist Church and was also a member of the Quarryville Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary. |
