Daniel Phillip Cole, 65 years, of Rising Sun, MD, passed away Friday, March 19, 2021 in the Elkton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center of Elkton, MD.
Born August 27, 1955 in Havre de Grace, MD, he was the son of Janet McCardell Cole and the late Charles E. Cole. Mr. Cole was formerly employed for many years as a welder by Mechanical Welding of Wakefield, PA. He was a very dedicated friend to the Amish community of Lancaster County, doing whatever he could to lend a hand to them. Mr. Cole was also a life-time member of the NRA. Ricky “Rick” Allen Hensel, Sr., 67, of Quarryville entered into eternal rest and joined his two sons in Heaven on Thursday, March 18, 2021. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of Claudette (Monk) Felczak and the late William J. Hensel, Sr. Rick was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved being outdoors and riding his Harley-Davidson Motorcycle. Rick recently retired from the Buck Company after 40 years of employment. His rowdy sense of humor, hard-working nature and stubborn style will be forever missed. F. Pat Rohrer, age 88 of Quarryville, passed away on Thursday, March 18, 2021 at the Lancaster General Hospital. She was the wife of the late I. Warren Rohrer who passed away on May 19, 1997. Born in Gordonville, she was the daughter of the late George J. and Cora Groff Dippner. Pat was a member of Calvary Monument Church. In her free time, she loved bird watching, gardening, doing word searches, going to bible studies, and spending time with her family. George William Van Buskirk, 60, of Nottingham, PA passed away on Wednesday, March 17, 2021.
He was the husband of Bonnie A. Zubris Van Buskirk. Born in Coatesville, he was the son of the late William O. and Margaret A. Beaver Van Buskirk. George retired in 2020 as an Industrial Arts teacher for the Coatesville School District after 36 years of service. He enjoyed the outdoors, woodworking, landscaping and grilling. Kirby Junior Pennington, age 93, passed away on Thursday, February 18, 2021 at his home. Junior was born on October 3, 1927 to the late Kirby Smith Pennington and Lula Jones Pennington in Ashe County, NC. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, David Glenn Pennington; sisters, Evalene King, Irene Fremuth, Goldie Price; brother, John Pennington. Junior enjoyed working on the farm and going to watch dirt track racing. He loved spending time with family and his special dog, Gracie. Those left to cherish his memories include his wife of 65 years, Pauline Pennington; daughters, Phyllis Rupard and husband Benny, Susan Osborne and husband Allen; son, James Pennington and wife Dawn; seven grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; sister, Margaret Broomell; brothers, Raymond Pennington, Joe Pennington, Oscar Pennington; several nieces and nephews. There is another angel around the throne as J. Russel Kreider, 92, of Brethren Village and formerly of Quarryville and Lampeter, entered into rest on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at Brethren Village. Born in Lancaster County, he was the son of the late John E. and Violetta (Ruhl) Kreider. He was married to the late Mary Good Kreider for over 65 years at the time of her passing in 2016. Ann Marie Muniz passed away peacefully on March 10, 2021 at her home in Oxford, PA after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born October 23rd, 1960 in Arizona to James (Jim) and Namie Davenport. Throughout her life, Ann changed the lives of everyone around her. She was a caregiver and role model for many, known for her generosity and compassion. She loved arts and crafts and music of all genres, but spending time with her family was what brought her the most joy. As a woman of many skills and vast wisdom, Ann was a mother figure for more than just her three children. Dwane M. Weaver, age 49 of Lititz, passed away on Monday, March 15, 2021 at the Penn State Health Hershey Medical Center. He was the husband of Colleen Burkholder Weaver with whom he celebrated 27 years of marriage on February 12th. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of Melvin and Norma Kreider Weaver. He was a member of Abundant Life Christian Fellowship in Lancaster. Dwane was a co-owner of Melvin Weaver & Sons. In his free time, he loved hunting, watching his kids sports games, and spending time with his family and friends. On March 14, 2021, at 84 years old, God granted Dad’s desire to be reunited with Mom. Dad persevered with many health ailments in order to be with us kids, but his body was worn and his heart was in Heaven. Born on June 3, 1936 to Sara (Troup) and Harold Robinson, Jack grew up outside of Gap, in Limeville. From little up he was always a very hard worker, earning the respect of everyone he knew; but he also knew how to make work fun and bring a smile to your face. In 1956 when Dad and Mom (Florence Lockamy) were first married, they lived in Compass, then when children came along they moved to Limeville and later retired in Nickel Mines. Dad was a truck driver most of his life. As kids we could often ride along when he hauled milk or when he worked for Poorbaugh Grain. In 1981 Dad started driving for Air Products and Chemicals in Lancaster. And even though he retired in 1998 he still could be seen wearing that classic white shirt and green pants some 20 years later. Ralph L. Walls, 85, of Oxford, passed away peacefully and comfortably in his home surrounded by his family and friends on Friday, March 12, 2021. He was retired from NVF of 20 plus years. Ralph, also known as Jack and Papaw... loved fishing, camping, western movies, wrestling, blue grass and country music. He also loved family gatherings, especially with the grandkids. Ralph loved to cook out on his grill. He is survived by his brother, Dean Walls and wife, Jane of Damascus VA; two daughters, Geri Hicks and her husband, Lary of West Grove and Jackie Owens Weaver and significant other, Shannon Arnold of Oxford; one granddaughter, Jamie Byrd and significant other, Russell Williams; one grandson, Dennis Byrd and wife, Desiree of TN; two great-granddaughters, Sabreena Byrd and fiancé, Alex Pollard of MD, and Makenzi Byrd and significant other, Dustin; five great-grandsons, Anthony, Cody, Aidan, Colt, and Dennis, Jr.; one step great-granddaughter, Scarlett; two great-great granddaughters, Bella and Zoé; and one great-great grandson, Bryson. |
