The Town of Perryville is hoping to reel in some Bassmasters.
With anglers scheduled to arriving for the Bassmaster Elite, officials in Perryville have invited them to town.
"We want to showcase Perryville," said town administrator Denise Breder.
The packets distributed to those attending the Bassmaster Elite contain an invitation to attend the August 14 Perryville Movies in the Park. This event, a partnership between the town and Restore Church, will be held at Lower Ferry Park on Roundhouse Drive. Games and events begin at 7 p.m.
That will be followed by the movie "Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day" which starts at dusk. There will be free popcorn and cotton candy for all. Those attending the movie are asked to bring blankets or chairs for sitting.
Before the movie, the Bassmasters can also stop at Perryville's Farmers' Market and buy some locally produced goods. The Reservoir Dogs will play live music.
Havre de Grace fireworks will also be held that night. Those attending the movie are invited to stay and watch the fireworks across the river.
