The days of wine and William are coming to Cecil College's Milburn Stone Theatre.
William Shakespeare's "Twelfth Night", a musical fable takes to the stage beginning Friday, July 11. Performances will also be held July 12,13,18,19, and 20.
Original music is by J. Andrew Dickenson, who also has a role in the production. Marshall B. Garrett is the director.
The setting is Illyria, the land of unrequited love. Olivia has three men who want to marry her: her butler Malvolio, the duke Orsino, and Sir Andrew, a knight who can't seem to do anything right. Olivia, instead falls in love with the duke's servant, Cesario, who happens to be a girl in disguise. Cesario is in love with Orsino.
The show also features clowns, pirates, love pentangles, lively folk rock music, and true love above all.
Rising Sun High School Drama teacher Tess Pohlhaus will portray Viola/Cesario. Madi Houff has the role of Countess Olivia. Brett Pearson is Duke Orsino. Other cast members include Matthew Lindsay Payne, Charles W. Johnson IV, Debra McGuire, Andrew John Mitchell, Tyler Peterson, Katrina Obarski, Ryan Milliner, Nina Krauss, Trevor Korn, and Mike Ware.
Show times are Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 3 p.m. This show is recommended for those over age 13. Ticket cost is $18 for adults and $15 for students and seniors.
There are also special perks for this show.
For one patron, a ticket and two glasses of wine costs $35. For two people and one bottle of wine the cost is $60. For a party of four patrons, $100 pays for the show and two bottles of wine.
