Town officials in Rising Sun are making one final push to get snow left from this weekend's blizzard hauled from town.
According to town administrator Calvin Bonenberger, in order to possibly qualify for grants or state or federal reimbursement, that work will be completed on Thursday. This falls within the days to qualify for those funds. The estimated cost so far to the town about $20,000 for subcontractors for snow removal. That figure does not include town crew or police officer overtime.
Crews worked to clear bus stops in preparation for children returning to school today.
When it comes to the required 24 hour post snow sidewalk shoveling, that has been lifted in the wake of this snow event. Residents are now required to have the snow removed from their sidewalks by Monday, February 8.
Trash pick up for those served by the town contractor will be on Friday, the regularly-scheduled day.
