Rising Sun's Mexican restaurant is on the move.
Riviera Maya, which is currently a tenant in the Rising Sun Plaza, will be moving into the building which was most recently Townhouse restaurant.
Manager Erika Medina said the building was purchased late in 2016 and the restaurant, which has outgrown its space, will move in March. But first, there is work to do in the building - floors, painting, and bathrooms.
"The last two years it's been busy. It's time to move," said Medina.
She stressed that the restaurant will have the same menu, same food, and same staff that it has in the current plaza location.
She won't be giving up the restaurant in the plaza. Another restaurant is coming to that storefront and Medina will oversee that also. She said that's still in the planning stages and she isn't ready to reveal her plans.
The new location will also have a bar. Riviera Maya has a liquor license. Medina said the emphasis will remain on the food. She hopes to expand in the future and possibly have outdoor seating at the new location.
Tom Dye, owner of Rising Sun Plaza, confirmed that another new restaurant will be located in the plaza after Riviera Maya moves to the old. Townhouse location
