Grief doesn't take a holiday.
That's why bereavement counseling, typically held in the fall close to Christmas and Thanksgiving, is being offered this time of year. Gabrielle Oldham, of Northern Chesapeake Hospice Foundation, said that Bereavement Counselor Angie Robertson has offered to host a free grief support group.
The group will meet Tuesdays starting April 22 and run six weeks through May 27.
This is the first group we're doing this way," said Oldham.
This group is for adults and can be a loss that is recent or long ago. The group is for those who have trouble dealing with a death, feel overwhelmed by loss and need to talk.
"The group is for anyone who feels this is something they can use," said Oldham.
This program is free and open to all. The loss does not need to have been through hospice. For more information about the bereavement group and times for the upcoming support session call the Northern Chesapeake Hospice Foundation at 410-392-0254 or 888-892-6685.
