The Office of the State Fire Marshal is still investigating a two-alarm fire Tuesday night, February 2, which displaced four people.
Firefighters were called to the two-story single family home at 141 Pierce Road, Rising Sun, at 6:44 p.m.
Damage was estimated at a total of $200,000, $170,000 for the structure and $30,000 for its contents.
Volunteers from Rising Sun, Water Witch, Perryville, North East, Union (Oxford, Pa.), Robert Fulton (Pa.), and Quarryville (Pa.) responded to the scene. It took 50 firefighters three and a half hours to control the blaze, which was discovered by a neighbor.
Investigators say the fire originated inside on the first floor. The cause remains under investigation.
The home is owned by Robin and Mary Peck. The Red Cross is assisting the family.
