Although performers are still being booked, plans are underway for a musical summer on Elkton's Main Street.
Musical acts are being slated for First Fridays, Thursdays Music on Main, and also for the Downtown Car Shows, also held on Thursdays.
The entertainment will be on the lawn at the corner of North and Main streets from 5:30-7:30 p.m. each night.
Boxturtle Bob will perform on Friday, May 1. Mixed Up plays at the May 28 Downtown Car Show.
Rebekah Campbell is the performer for First Friday, June 5. Plan B will perform at the June 25 car show.
July 9 there will be a Music on Main performer. That slot has yet to be filled. The Witchdoctors, a longtime favorite, will be at Music on Main July 16. The Big Bopper performs on July 23 for the car show. Gang of Two performs July 30. Pearl Street will be at Music on Main August 6. There will be a First Friday performer on August 7.
Kona Shame will play at the August 13 Music on Main. The Salamanders will be out for the August 20 Music on Main. The Sensations will sing at the August 27 car show.
Swing City Big Band performs big band music on September 3. Mary and Charlie perform First Friday September 4. Danielle and Jimmy perform on September 10 for Music on Main. There will be a Music on Main performance on September 17 and a First friday show on October 2.
According to Jessica Price, administrative assistant at Elkton's Chamber/Alliance, more music has been added as one of the ways to attract more people to downtown Elkton's Arts and Entertainment venues.
