The community is uniting to fight for Lauren Thomas.
Thomas, 28, a Cecil County resident and single mother to two-year-old Riley, is battling melanoma.
"Lauren is an outstanding role model and dance teacher at Cecil Dancenter," said Tina Travers, of Cecil Dancenter. Thomas has also been employed at Baker's restaurant for 14 years.
More than a year ago, Thomas was diagnosed with melanoma. She has endured chemotherapy and radiation as well as experimental treatments at the National Health Institute. Travers explained that Thomas has fought this battle with "incredible grace, courage, and faith."
At first, the cancer was responding and shrinking, Recent reports show the cancer is spreading.
"It is devastating to her and all those who know and love her. Lauren has touched many lives through her work at Baker's and Cecil Dancenter and they want to help Lauren make some happy memories with her family, as well as provide some funds for her since she is still going through treatment and is unable to work," stated Travers.

Arrive anytime between 4-9 p.m. for a special menu, raffle, auction, and entertainment by the Weldon Brothers and Rockin' Randy. All proceeds will go to Thomas and her daughter.
