One of Charlestown's hot spots is about to get a whole new look.
The river front area at Long Point needs some shoreline restoration. If all goes as planned, that will begin soon.
The bid opening will be held September 8. If one of the bids is accepted, the work will begin shortly after.
Town administrator Wib Pumpaly explained that the scope of work will include the revetment of about 250 feet of shoreline in the area of Long Point Park. That area is a popular wedding spot in the town.
"(While the work is underway) the weddings will be completed for the year," said Pumpaly. The shoreline revetment should be finished before December 1.
