Long after the erasers are gone and the pens run out of ink, Cecil County Public Schools can benefit from your purchase of school supplies.
The school system has a deal with Office Max Workplace which allows families to purchase school supplies online at a discounted price. In turn, Cecil County Public Schools receives a one-percent rebate.
"As part of our bid for school supplies, everything we buy people get our discount," said Tom Kappra, chief financial officer for Cecil County Public Schools.
The school system spends about a half million annually on supplies from Office Max. Kappra said that parent and public use of the discount site generates about $10,000 to $15,000 of that $500,000. "We encourage people to use it (the discount) for anything in the (Office Max) catalog. And shipping is free," said Kappra.
In order to use the online discount go to www.officemaxworkplace.com. The username is: backtoschool The password: cecilcountysch1. Supplies will be delivered via UPS 1-5 days after the order is place. The discount doesn't apply to just back to school. It can be used all the time by anyone.
