The heart of Cecil County is still beating.
That heart can be seen in the images in Cecil's Senior Services and Community Transit Department's 2014 calendar. The calendar features photos taken by those who are age 55 plus. The photos are submitted to the department and then judged. The best are chosen and then placed in the calendar.
The purpose of the calendar is multi-fold. It showcases the talent of the seniors and beautiful places in the county. It also serves as a recruiting tool for Cecil's RSVP (Retired & Senior Volunteer Program). The calendar is funded with grant money. This is the seventh year that Senior Services and Community Transit have put together this calendar.
Krista Gilmore, who coordinates the calendar project for Senior Services said that the quality of photos submitted "gets better every year."
