Defensively, we were marking their girls and clearing the ball well."
Solanco followed that up with another solid performance in a 3-1 loss to Manheim Central. The Mules jumped on top on a goal by Curry-Saner off an assist from Herr. Central scored the equalizer before halftime and tallied twice in the second half. "I wish we could have held the lead longer and made them sweat a little bit," Bramble said. The coach praised the play of defenders Alexis Garnica, Paige Miller, Jen Eberly, and Amanda Schneider. Herr and Briggs played well in the midfield and Rachel Trout played well at midfield and forward. "It was quite a good performance," Bramble said. "Manheim Central had some good shots and they're a strong side." Garden Spot downed the Mules 4-1 Tuesday, September 17. Abby Yoder had the lone Solanco goal. The Mules dropped an 8-0 decision to Ephrata Monday, September 16. "It was a freak of nature," said Bramble. "We didn't play like the result would make you think. They had some great shots. We had some decent chances that didn't go in and almost everything they shot seemed to go in." Bramble said his team deserved a better fate. "It was my most disappointing game," he said. "Not because of the way we played but because they didn't deserve the score to be the way it was." Comments are closed.
