In the other doubles matches, the Braves' Jorja Dyer/Ava Zimmerman topped Michaela Brenneman/Sophia Stoltzfus-8-4 and Emily Davis/Elizabeth Davis downed Adriana Santiago/Grace Pursel 8-1,
Singles results: Number one Morris won 6-0, 6-2 over Redcay, Dyer defeated Baker 6-0, 6-1, Mowrer overcame Brenneman in three tiebreakers, 7-6 (9-7), 10-8, (10-2), and Zimmerman triumphed over Stoltzfus 6-2, 6-3.
"I was pleased overall with the teams performance," said Walrath. "The girls from top to bottom competed gamely throughout. The final scores didn't reflect how close those individual games were. Much to Octarara's credit they played the big points better than we were able to. I just had to smile at many of the rallies that we produced today. We are going to have grow as we go along. Now I have a much better idea regarding our team's character. We don't give up, we play hard."
