Now the Rising Sun girls soccer team can turn its attention to Fallston. The Tigers took care of business Friday afternoon, defeating North East 4-0 in the opening round of the region tournament. "This was the only game we were worried about," said Rising Sun coach Dylan Aiman. "We didn't look ahead. This was our focus. I think they responded well." Jillian Seay tallied twice for Rising Sun and Teresa Reid and Jackie Barbon each added a goal. Reid, Tara Norona, and Madison Webb each picked up an assist. The Tigers will travel to Fallston to play the Cougars at 5 p.m. "It'll be a great game," said Aiman. "Win or lose. Obviously, we're going to win but it will be a great game." Fallston has eliminated Rising Sun the past two seasons, 1-0 in 2013 and 3-0 last season. Aiman said this year's team is better suited to end what he has called the "Fallston curse". Following Friday's game, the coach was asked if he was more confident this season than in years past. "Moreso now than I have been the last couple years, for sure," he said. "I just think we have a stronger senior class. I've played them before but I had maybe two or three strong seniors. I have four strong seniors. I have a very good supporting cast. And I think Fallston's is as good as they've ever been. They're always good. So I feel this is the year to do it. The year to do it is this year." Comments are closed.
