The Perryville boys and girls track and field teams celebrated Senior Day with a sweep of the last regular season meet. In the girls competition, the Panthers (101.17) prevailed handily with the Tigers (46.33) ahead of Harford Tech (38.5). Brooke Doane and Sierra Montz both won two individual events. Doane claimed the 400 and long jump and was second in the triple jump. Montz won both hurdles events and was third in both the long jump and triple jump.
Katelyn Broughman (100), Autumn Estep (800), Jarah Cevis (shot put), Christen Dodson (discus), and Paiton Kelly (pole vault) each earned a win. Kelly cleared 9-4 to set a school record, bettering the mark of 9-2 established by teammate Hailey McDonald a few weeks ago. McDonald tied for first in the high jump with teammate Teri Wennersten and Rising Sun's Heather Martin. The Panthers' Hannah Henson, Shiloh Keithley, Kasey Sadler, and Hailey Lutter teamed to take the 4 x 800 relay. The Tigers' Teresa Reid recorded a victory in the 1600 and was second in the 800. Emma Wheeler triumphed in the 3200 and Madison Webb won the 200. Perryville (103) dominated the boys team competition while Rising Sun (42) nipped Harford Tech (41). Elijah Johnson won the long jump and triple jump. He jumped 41-4.5 in the triple jump to top teammate TyRell Hollingsworth by .75 of a foot. Hollingsworth won the 400. Matt Salvatore (1600), Tyler McCall (800), and Cam Crosler (pole vault) each triumphed in an event. Johnson, Deshaun Bryant, Anthony Hernandez, and Marquis Topp teamed to win the 4 x 200 relay. Rising Sun's Martin Stillwell won the 200 and was second in the 100. Spencer Converse (3200), Charles Thurston (shot put), and Alex Kerns (discus) each recorded a victory. Sean O'Donnell, Logan Rutherford, Noah Ulrich, and Bryce Calhoun combined to capture the 4 x 800 relay. Comments are closed.
