Bo Manor Eagles soared to a 53-24 victory over Rising Sun at home on February 10. The Eagles controlled the game from the start, leading by 16 at the end of the half. "Our transition points were excellent. We were getting steals and we were out for the races, scoring our points," said Bo Manor head coach Jazmen White. "We didn't play with as much confidence as we have in the past couple of weeks and they are a very talented team," said Rising Sun head coach Kathy Stoudt. Bo Manor's defense and Rising Sun's lack of confidence allowed the Eagles to outscore the Tigers by 10 points in the third. Coach White said their changing defensive strategies and "keeping them (Rising Sun) off guard" added to their win.
"We had two people get into foul trouble and they were two of our main ball handlers, Bella Barbato and Ally Bradford, that definitely hurt us. I think it just hurt our confidence with other kids handling the ball on the floor and going up against a team that is superior athletically. I thought we did the best we could do under the circumstances," said Stoudt. Rising Sun slowed Bo Manor down in the fourth and outscored the Eagles by five points. Bradford added two baskets and Megan Brown made both free throws bringing the score to 53-24. The Eagles, leading scorers were Kay Thompson, Delaney Mdash, and Hanna Clark, who all scored 10 points each. For the Tigers, Brown racked up 10 points and Lexi Gray added six. Brown grabbed eight rebounds and Barbato obtained five. "From the beginning of the season to right now, we are a completely different team. Stoudt was just saying in the locker room we used to be like five fingers but now we are a fist, playing together. Before, we were individual players and although we have retained our individual skills, I feel like a lot us have learned to play together. Everyone is contributing and its not just one player leading the team," said Brown. Comments are closed.
