Bohemia Manor junior Ty Franks won his third Class 1A state cross country title Saturday at Hereford High School. Franks completed the course in 16:26, 42 seconds ahead of second place Levi Cameron of Northern (Garrett). Counting indoor and outdoor track, It is the 11th state title of Franks' career, the most by any Cecil County athlete. The Eagles (81) finished second in the team standings behind Southern (Garrett) 43. Luke Salata (10th), Jared Morse (23rd), Jonathan Smith (27th),Grant Franceschina (30th) rounded out the scoring for Bohemia Manor. Reigning state champion Perryville finished eighth. Matt Salvatore paced the Panthers with a 16th place finish followed by Craig Seibert (44th), Joel McCall (53rd), Brenden Heroux (62nd), and Zach Buckson (65th). Bohemia Manor also finished second in the girls team comeptition. Smithsburg (46) dominated the event followed by the Eagles (122), Pikesville (127), Carver A&T (129), and Perryville (139). Freshman Elle Meyer led Bohemia Manor with a fourth place finish followed by Chelby McCall (24th), Jamie Rhudy (28th), Marissa Pixler (36th), Shannon McCloskey (41st), and Lena Seidenberg (42nd). Aleah Losoya paced Perryville with a 12th place finish followed by Allison Morris (18th), Sierra Montz (27th), Kayla Losoya (34th), and Didem Akbay (61st). North East runners had the best finishes among the county's 2A schools. Erin Palmer was 17th in the girls race and Nathan Galloway was 47th in the boys race, one spot in front of Rising Sun's Phil Hurm. Rising Sun finished 14th in the team competition led by Alanah Bell (62nd), Emma Wheeler (72nd), Arianna Wheeler (97th), Kiona Brady (107th), and Autumn Russell (117th). Palmer's teammate, Briana Bruckart, was 79th. In the boys team standings, Rising Sun was 16th and Elkton was 17th. Following Hurm for the Tigers were Matthew Childs (94th), Wyatt McMillan (130th), Spencer Converse (139th), and Timony Zane (144th). Zaavan Kenenske led Elkton with a 63rd place finish and Patrick Gerhard was 104th. Comments are closed.
