It was well worth the wait for the Perryville field hockey team.
The Panthers' matchup with Rising Sun was originally scheduled for September 11, but was postponed by heat.
Then the Monday, September 23, game was delayed again while the two teams had to wait over 100 minutes for referees to arrive after a scheduling mixup.

The Tigers grabbed a 1-0 lead two minutes into the game on a Brianna Bailey goal off a Mallory Tiffin assist but it was mostly all Perryville after that.
Carrie Brighthaupt scored a natural hat trick to propel the Panthers to a 3-1 lead midway through the first half.
Merve Akbay scored off a corner just before the break to give Perryville a 4-1 advantage at halftime.
Bailey's second goal of the game made it 4-2 but Akbay scored again and Brooke Hornberger capped the scoring.
Hornberger also added a pair of assists and Akbay and Hannah Seibert each recorded a helper.
