Tina M. Volz of Holtwood died on Thursday, June 25, 2015. She was 59. Mrs. Volz was born in Lancaster, a daughter of Esther Groff Murphy of Millersville and the late Marvin Murphy. She was a fiber artist, creating custom knitting and weaving. Mrs. Volz was a member of Apple Seeds, a preteen girls' instruction group. She was also active in scouting, serving as a Cub Scout den leader, committee leader, district member at large, and district council training program. She was also a Cub Scout Trainer Woodbadge, Boy Scout Woodbadge, staffed a Woodbadge Course. She was also a member of the Order of the Arrow. She received the District Award of Merit and the Silver Beaver award.
Mrs. Volz was also a member of the NRA, the Red Rose Spinner and Weaver Guild, and the Quilting on the line Quilters Guild. She was a member of the New Covenant Community Church, Delta. In addition to her mother, Mrs. Volz is survived by her husband of 35 years, Joseph S. Volz; her son Scott I., husband of Crescentia Volz of Dubuque, Iowa; and four grandchildren. Friends may call at the New Covenant Community Church, 284 Slab Rd., Delta, from 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, June 30. Services will be held from the church at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 1. Burial will be in the Quarryville Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the New Covenant Community Church or to Hospice and Community Care, P.O. Box 4125, Lancaster PA 17604.
