Thomas Christian Musser of New Providence died at home on Thursday, July 31, 2014. He was 17. Thomas was born in Lukovit, Bulgaria. He was a son of Joseph N. and Susanna W. Owens Musser. He spent the first 16 years of his life lying in an orphanage crib, where he suffered from neglect, malnutrition, and lack of human interaction. After being adopted and brought to the United States, his strength and skills improved as he received medical care, nutrition, and the love of his new family. Thomas was a part of the MDS program at Solanco High School. He enjoyed sandbox, swinging, playing in the water, taking walks, and being outdoors with his siblings.
He loved the color green, and, most of all, he loved people. In addition to his parents, he is survived by 12 siblings, Joseph Neal II, husband of Lindsay Rabe Musser of Lancaster, Daniel Robert Musser, at home, Joshua Donald Musser, at home, Laura Frances Musser, at home, Susannah Jane Musser, at home, Katerina Hope Musser, at home, John Michael Musser, at home, Peter Quentin Musser, at home, James Elliott Musser, at home, Stephen Lewis Musser, at home, Verity Joy Musser, at home, and Benjamin Justus Musser, at home; his paternal grandparents, Neal and Joan Musser of New Providence; and his maternal grandparents, Don and Sally Owens of Lancaster. Burial was in the Smithville Church of God Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made by visiting www.plevenproject.org.
