Sandra Cramer Bender lived her life giving of her love; and on December 18, 2016, at the end of her life’s journey, she gave herself quietly, full of peace and gratitude, into the arms of God, while surrounded by her devoted family. We feel a great loss in the passing of this precious life. Our beloved mother was born August 23, 1941 in Lancaster, PA to the late Franklin S. and Lillian E. Ulrich. She was a graduate of J.P. McCaskey High School and called Willow Street her home for more than 50 years. Throughout her life, she was a dedicated school bus driver for Lampeter-Strasburg School District. Sandra is preceded in death by her wonderful husband of 45 years, Harold E. Cramer. Together, they nurtured compassionate family values as the heart of their home. Sandra is survived by her loyal husband of 2 years, Richard D. Bender, who deeply cherished their time together. She will be lovingly missed by her two daughters, Sherry L., wife of Robert C. Reidenbaugh, of Lancaster, and Shelly C., wife of William S. Lynch, of California. She will always be affectionately remembered as “Mama” to her five grandchildren: Elizabeth, Daniel, Andrew, Emma, and Penn. She will also be dearly missed by her brother, Barry F. Ulrich, of Washington as well as her nephew, Barry Jr., and her nieces, Ariana and Kendra. Sandra was a devoted wife, mother, aunt, sister, and grandmother. She deeply valued sharing her time with family. Together we enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and abroad, as well as, spending annual summer vacations at Cape May. The greatest gift that she gave us was touching our lives, in so very many ways, with her unconditional love and support. She was truly our best friend! A special thanks to friends and family who supported her final journey with steadfast encouragement, love, and hope. She was comforted by feeling the presence of God’s strength and will, guiding her journey to eternal life. Sandra was a lifetime member of Covenant United Methodist Church in Lancaster where she was actively involved. She also enjoyed serving as an usher at the Fulton Opera House and as a Relay For Life volunteer. A memorial service celebrating Sandra’s life will be private and at the convenience of her family. Interment will follow at Willow Street Mennonite Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions to honor Sandra may be made to Covenant United Methodist Church at 110 N. Mulberry St., Lancaster, PA 17603. Arrangements entrusted to Reynolds Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc. Memories and condolences may be shared at www. reynoldsfuneralhome.net. Comments are closed.
