He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Kathleen (Weaver) Bucher, a daughter, Elizabeth Ann (Beth) Bucher, and two sisters, Joyce May from Lebanon and Linda Overlock from La Grande, Oregon. Bob was born in Lancaster, the son of Paul E. Bucher and Ruth U. Bucher. Bob studied Agriculture Economics at Penn State University before serving three years in the Army Security Agency. He was also on the National Agri-Executive Committee and in 1982, was awarded the Egg Industryman of the Year by the Pennsylvania Poultry Federation. After leaving the bank, Bob became part of Hypro Industries as General Manager, which dealt with aiding farmers in financial resource management, with emphasis on the poultry industry. In 1984, Bob, with partner Jeffrey Musser, developed Bucher Associates, which was involved with egg production. Bob was a member of the UCC Church in Willow Street. He enjoyed traveling by car, especially to New England. He loved golf and watching Penn State football with daughter Beth, a Penn State Graduate.
He had been a member of Meadia Heights Golf Club, the Lancaster Country Club and was actively involved with the Lancaster South Rotary for many years. Weekends were often spent at the family cabin in Juniata County and a favorite place for Bob was the Tucquan Club on the Susquehanna.
