Robert G. Blevins of Quarryville, died Sunday, April 5, 2015, at Conestoga View. He was 86. Born in Peach Bottom he was the son of the late Verney and Allie (Pennington) Blevins. Mr. Blevins was a carpenter all his life. He was a Korean War veteran and played minor league baseball. He loved going turkey hunting with his sons and friends of the family. He formerly attended High View Church of God. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Janet M. (Doulin) Blevins.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by five children: Karen K. Blevins, Quarryville; Robert M. Blevins (Diane), Pequea, Ricky G. Blevins (Mary), Quarryville, Lori A. (Blevins) Geib (Brian), New Providence, Jeffrey F. Blevins (Sheri), Willow Street; 11 grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, one great-grandchild, four step-great grandchildren, and two siblings, Elmer Blevins and Dale Blevins. He was preceded in death by his brother Edison Blevins. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 9, 2015 at 12:30 p.m. at High View Church of God, 2740 Leaman Road, Ronks, with Pastor Tom Lefever and Pastor Tom Myers officiating. The family will receive friends at the church at 11 a.m. until the service begins. A traditional private burial will be at the convenience of the family.
