Robert C. Findley, Sr., 70, of Quarryville, entered into rest on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at his home surrounded by his family. Born in New Providence, he was the son of the late Donald and Dorothy (Swayne) Findley. Bob and his wife, Margaret “Peg” (Tarker) Findley had celebrated 50 years of marriage in October. Bob was an electrician and also taught electrical engineering at Mt Joy Vo-Tech. He was also the owner and operator of the Honey Wagon Septic Service. Bob was a member of St. Catherine’s Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, 4th degree, IBEW Union and served as a New Providence Supervisor for 3 terms. When not working, Bob enjoyed his beach house in Rehoboth Beach, farming, his animals and was always known to be tinkering with something. Above all, Bob loved spending time with his family. Surviving besides his wife Peg are sons: Robert C. Findley, Jr. and wife Wendy of Willow Street and Jacob “Jake” Findley and his wife Heather of Quarryville. Also surviving are grandchildren, Kya Findley, Jacob “LJ” Findley, Jr. along with 2 sisters and a brother. He was preceded in death by a sister and a brother.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. from St Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 955 Robert Fulton Highway, Quarryville, PA 17566 with the Reverend Mark Speitel as celebrant. Friends are invited to greet the family and share in light refreshments immediately following the service in the church’s lower level. Please omit flowers; contributions may be made in Bob’s memory to the Knights of Columbus and sent in care of the church at the above address.
