Ralph Roten, 94, of Oxford, passed away peacefully on December 2, 2021. He was born in Keystone, West Virginia in 1927. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Annis (Miller) Roten and sons, David and Robert. He is survived by 4 children: Daniel, Shirley, Rita Sue and Steve. He also leaves behind 7 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren and a brother, Roy. There was nothing of greater importance in Ralph’s life than family. Ralph served in the U.S. Army in 1953 at Fort Jackson, S.C. He has as always been a dedicated patriot. He was a successful mushroom grower for many years and later enjoyed working as a carpenter. He had a passion for woodworking and shared many of his creations with family and friends. Ralph was also a poet, writing poems for those who touched his heart. The last few years, he thoroughly enjoyed spending every day at the Oxford Senior Center, where he made many life-long friends.
For over twenty years, Tuesdays were reserved for coffee breaks with family and friends; and Friday mornings were reserved for breakfast with friends. On Sundays, he traveled to the Elkton VFW, where he danced the night away with even more friends. There will be a public viewing at Nottingham Missionary Baptist Church, 303 West Christine Rd., Nottingham, PA on Thursday, December 9, 2021 from 9-11 a.m. Please note, the family will not be present during the viewing. Those attending are asked to wear a mask while indoors. A private funeral service will take place with interment following in the adjoining church cemetery. Kindly omit flowers. Memorial contributions may be made to the Oxford Area Senior Center, 12 E. Locust Street, Oxford, PA 19363. Comments are closed.
