Philip M. Lanese, Sr., 79, of Holtwood, PA, formerly of Ridgefield Park, NJ, passed away on Tuesday, September 19, 2017, at Hospice and Community Care, Mount Joy, PA. Born in Jersey City, NJ, he was the son of the late Michael Charles and Mary Burkard Lanese. Philip was a 1955 graduate of Ridgefield Park Junior-Senior High School in New Jersey. After high school, he attended Newark College of Engineering. Philip went on to find employment in the field of electronics, working for ADT Security. After leaving ADT, Philip worked as an Electrical Engineer for Belco Pollution Control, SHL Design Corporation, a company he owned and operated and finally Two Technologies. After leaving these positions, Philips never fully retired and he continued as a consultant, working in the electronics industry for over 50 years. An avid amateur radio operator, Philip had the call letters, K3IB. He was a long time member of the Mt. Airy VHF Society and particularly enjoyed communicating with other amateur radio operators by bouncing radio signals off the moon. Philip is survived by his sons, Philip M. (Michael) Lanese, Jr., of Hillsborough, NJ, and Matthew N. Lanese, husband of Martie, of New Milford, CT; and a sister, Ellen Spaldo, wife of Tony, of Rutherford, NJ. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two sisters, Mary Jane Groff and Roseanne Alberque.
