Marian E. Griffith of Kirkwood died on Tuesday, July 23, 2013. She was 83. Mrs. Griffith was born in Bart Township, a daughter of the late Carl S. and Mabelle E. Trout Probst. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Griffith also transported her Amish neighbors and worked in the laundry at the Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community. She was a member of the Oxford Senior Center and Union Presbyterian Church. She attended Wesley United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Griffith enjoyed playing Bingo, collecting, and enjoying picnics and eating out. She loved spending time with her family. She is survived by her daughter, Carol, wife of Gary Montgomery of Peach Bottom; seven grandchildren, Brandi Pergament, Allyson Smith, Scott Hanna, Cassie Byers, Mac Griffith, Michael Nelson, Karen Hensel; 10 great-grandchildren; five sisters, Esther Sheaffer of Quarryville, Edith Hollins of Quarryville, Emma Romero of Leola, Ruth, wife of Tom Gentry of Quarryville, and Ethel, wife of Hobert McMillion of Quarryville; and two brothers, Harold, husband of Joan Probst of Georgetown, and Robert, husband of Kitty Probst of Dover, Del. Her husband, Clarence N. Griffith, died in 2011. A daughter, Elaine Miller, and a son, Charles Griffith, are also deceased. Friends may call at Reynolds Funeral and Cremation Services, 144 E. State St., Quarryville, from 9:30 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 27. Services will be held from the funeral home at 11 a.m. on that date with Pastor Blake Deibler officiating.
