Henry R. “Jack” Combs, Jr, 73, of Truce Road, New Providence, PA died Wednesday, January 15, 2020 at Lancaster General Hospital after a 3 year battle with cancer. He was the husband of Joyce E. Trout Combs. Born in Avon Grove, PA he was the son of the late Henry R. and Arzella Arnold Combs, Sr. Henry was a member of Covenant United Methodist Church, Lancaster where he served as an usher and as a church softball coach. He was also a member of Southern Lancaster County Sportman’s Association. A Vietnam veteran, he served his country proudly in the US Navy. Henry retired from Heil Bulk Trailers where he was employed as a steel fabricator. Following retirement he worked as a delivery man for Nolt’s Automotive Parts.
Surviving beside his wife Joyce, are two daughters, Teresa (Rajendra) Sakrudkar and their children, Minalli, Manish, Madhuri, and Malini; April Combs and her children James and Angel. He was preceded in death by a son Bryan Trout. Surviving are Bryan’s children Amanda and Bradley Trout; 3 great grandchildren , Jackson, Jaidyn, and Olivia; and 5 siblings, Stephen Combs, Brenda Bernard, Lena Moyer, Charlotte Palone, and Phyllis Osterunland. A memorial service will be held at Boehm’s United Methodist Chapel, 13 West Boehms Road, Willow Street, PA on Thursday, Jan. 23, 2020 at 7:30PM with Pastor Joan Trout officiating.
