Grace Arlene (O’Donnell) Heidelbaugh, 82, of Quarryville, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, on April 20, 2019 at Hospice & Community Care of Mt. Joy. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late John & Pearl (Eshelman) O’Donnell. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, William R. Heidelbaugh. She was a 1954 graduate of Solanco High School and Lancaster Business College. She retired from Yellow Freight Trucking Company and was a local seamstress. She was a member of Providence Church and was actively involved as a Sunday school teacher, youth advisor, Awana Club and Bible Adventure leader. She was a leader for many years with the Girl Scouts. Grace enjoyed traveling to Haiti and helping with the medical clinics. She loved to take care of the babies while their mothers were being seen by the physicians and would collect baby rattles to give them. Grace was a loving Mammaw to all and enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren. She had a heart for those who were down and out and loved to serve others. She was an avid reader and loved to cook. Grace was known for her chocolate cake with caramel icing and over her lifetime made hundreds of them for others.
Grace will be lovingly missed by her four children, Tammy (Mike) Tims, Scott, (Suzie) Heidelbaugh, Terri (Jeff) Swope, and Johnny Heidelbaugh; five grandchildren: Tearany, Conlan (Melissa), Kelsey (Dustin), Samantha & Abigail and her great gummy bear club of Crosby, Colt, Tanner, Diesel, Dakota & Waylynn; and her sisters, Muggs (RC) Bledsoe and Sandy (Richard) Wissler. She was preceded in death by a brother Joe O’Donnell and sister Lucy Warfel. There will be a memorial service held at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 25th at Providence Church, 269 Cinder Road, New Providence, PA 17560. There will be a time to greet the family following the service. The family wishes to extend their deepest appreciation and gratitude to the caregivers at Hospice & Community Care of Mt. Joy.
