Frederick G. Hobbs, 72, of Quarryville and formerly Corpus Christi, TX, entered into rest on Wednesday, February 10, 2016. Born in Medford, MA he was the son of the late Frederick S. and Grace (Goudy) Hobbs. Fred and his wife, Sandra M. (Shipp) Hobbs celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary last February. Fred served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He worked and retired from the Honeywell Corporation as an Engineering Test Manager. He was a member of the Congregational Church in Milford, CT. Fred was an avid model railroader and also enjoyed photographing trains and planes. He was a big Boston Red Sox fan. Surviving besides his wife Sandra is a son, Frederick R. Hobbs and his wife Stefanie of NC., a daughter, Debra L. Bennett of Quarryville, 5 grandchildren; Frederick A., and Alexandra Hobbs, Samantha, Joseph and Daniel Bennett along with a great grandson, Nathan and a brother, Robert Hobbs of FL. He was preceded in death by a son-in-law, David G. Bennett.
Services celebrating Fred’s life will be on Monday, February 22, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. from Dewald Funeral & Cremation Services, 227 W. 4th St., Quarryville with Pastor Dwight Lefever officiating. Friends may visit with the family on Monday from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Interment will be private.
