Walter F. Keith, 91, of New Providence, entered into rest on Thursday, February 25, 2016. Born in Newark, DE he was the son of the late, Edna (Peal) Keith. He and his wife, Janet M. (Warfel) (Zercher) Keith had celebrated 45 years of marriage in August. Walter served his country in the US Army during WWII in the 881st Guard Squadron. After his service he worked several jobs, among them as a cook for the former Gimbles Restaurant and Three Mile House. In later years he worked and retired from Armstrong World Industries in the security department. After retiring Walter went on to work at Good’s Store in Quarryville. He attended New Providence Church of God. Walter was an avid Hershey Bears Fan and also enjoyed flowers and doing yard work. Surviving besides his wife are sons: Kevin Keith of AZ and Daryl Keith of Lancaster along with step-son Kenneth E. Zercher of Germany. Walter also has several grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Gregory Keith and a sister, Gladys Bankes. Funeral Services will be on Monday, February 29, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. from Dewald Funeral & Cremation Services, 227 W. 4th St., Quarryville, PA with Pastor Dwight Lefever officiating.
