Emma Kathleen (Ashley) McClure, 88, formerly of Holtwood, died peacefully at the home of her daughter, in Drumore on August 17, 2017. Born in Rugby, VA, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Barbara (Wyatt) Ashley. She was married to the late Worth McClure for 62 years when he passed away in March of 2011. Kathleen and Worth were members of the Chapel Baptist Church in Lansing, North Carolina and she was also baptized at Colerain Baptist Church. She worked at a Woolen Mill in Virginia before moving to Southern Lancaster County in 1948. She was a homemaker, farm wife and store clerk at Liberty Square Store from 1960-1963. She is survived by a daughter, Linda, wife of David Reath of Drumore; daughter-in-law, Mary McClure of Lancaster; 3 granddaughters: Donna Statkus (Barry) of Schaefferstown; Sheila Dimick (David) of Oklahoma; Michelle Coulter of Lancaster; great grandchildren: Courtney Smith, Ben Smith, Victoria Greathouse (Jason), Abby Smith, Kenny Peeler (Katie), Sierra Coulter and Alexandria Brown. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a step-son: Donald McClure and 7 siblings.
Funeral Services will take place at Bethesda United Methodist Church, 1068 Hilldale Rd., Holtwood on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. There will be a visitation at the church from 10:30 -11 a.m. Interment will follow the service in the Drumore Friends Cemetery.
