Edward F. Fritz of Quarryville, Pa., died Sunday, April 5, 2015, at Lancaster General Hospital. He was 74. He was born, September 12, 1940 in Lancaster, a son of the late Edward M. and Janet Kegel Fritz. Mr. Fritz was a graduate of St. Anthony of Padua grade school, Lancaster Catholic High School, and St. Joseph’s University, Philadelphia, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry. He worked for RCA in the color tube division; he then formed a partnership with Ed Heltshe operating E & E Landscaping.
He was the head golf professional at Tanglewood Manor Golf Club for more than 20 years. He ended his working career with the former Bowers Jewelry Store, Quarryville. Mr. Fritz loved golf, thorough bred horse racing, and NASCAR. A devout catholic, Ed was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, Quarryville, where he had served as an usher for many years. He is survived by a sister, Elizabeth A. Moore of Madison, Wisconsin, brother, Robert A. Fritz, husband of Alberta M., Lancaster, as well as his nephew Kent and niece Kelly. A mass of Christian burial will take place at St Catherine of Siena Church, 955 Robert Fulton Highway, Quarryville, on Friday, April 10, at 10:30 a.m. with Reverend Robert Yohe as celebrant. Visitation will be held at the church from 10-10:30 a.m. Burial will be in St Catherine of Siena Catholic Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St Catherine of Siena Church.
