Edith R. DeLong of Little Britain Rd., Quarryville, died at Hamilton Arms Center, Lancaster, on Monday, May 12, 2014. She was 83. Mrs. DeLong was born in Eden Township, a daughter of the late Walter F. and Ella Mary Graybill Eberly. She was a graduate of Quarryville High School. Mrs. DeLong worked as a secretary for Frey Brothers Manufacturing before retiring in 1994. Earlier, she had worked for RCA in Lancaster and Hager's Store, Lancaster. She was a member of Middle Octorara Presbyterian Church, Quarryville. Mrs. DeLong is survived by her husband of 61 years, Robert C. DeLong; her daughter, Connie, wife of Harold Keene of Quarryville; five sisters, Charlotte Boohar of Willow Street, Martha Benner of Rising Sun, Md., Mary E. Shee of Quarryville, Ann Basciani of Lancaster, and Nancy, wife of Karl Findley of Quarryville; her brother, Jay F., husband of Shelba Eberly of Lancaster; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Two brothers, Charles G. Eberly and John W. Eberly, and a sister, Blanche Mimm, are deceased. Friends may call at the Middle Octorara Presbyterian Church, 1199 Valley Rd., Quarryville, from noon to 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 15. Services will be held from the church at 2 p.m. on that date with the Rev. Douglas Hileman officiating. Burial was in the Quarryville Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Arthritis Foundation, 630 Janet Ave., Lancaster PA 17601.
