Daniel Isaac Lugo of Quarryville died Sunday, July 13, 2014. He was 18. He was born at Providence Hospital in Anchorage, Alaska on June 29, 1996. He loved to talk to adults and had an opinion on everything. Daniel loved Alaska – never wanted to live anywhere else. In August, 2007 Daniel and his family moved to Quarryville. Music played a large role in his middle and high school life. Although he started with the bass clarinet in Alaska, it was with Mr. Doll that he learned to play the tenor and baritone sax. More recently he was playing around with the keyboard and looked forward to getting his own piano. Music continued to be Dan’s inspiration throughout high school. He loved all music that made sense to him - jazz, rock, rap, etc. He was in marching band, jazz band, pit orchestra and chess club.
He graduated from Solanco High School on June 11. Dan worked as a volunteer in the OR (working with his mom) at Heart of Lancaster Hospital in Lititz. He also loved to read, play video games, and social media. His mom always called Daniel her “right hand and her left hand” because he always shared the workload around home – especially when his dad was driving cross-country. Losing his perfect attendance record was not a problem when his grandma had a medical appointment. Dan was the always present “older brother” to Elisa and Robi. He is survived by his mom and dad, Lupe and Robinson; younger sister Elisa and brother Robi; grandma; and extended family and many friends in Pennsylvania, Alaksa and Texas. A celebration of his life will be held Sunday, July 27 at 2 p.m. at the Wesley United Methodist Church, 1104 Kirkwood Pike, Quarryville. Daniel’s sixth-grade teacher, Pastor Blake Deibler, will officiate. Friends and family are invited to fellowship following Daniel’s internment at the church cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Heart of Lancaster Hospital (Memorial Fund of Daniel Lugo) through Citizen’s Bank, 1415 Lititz Pike, Lancaster PA 17601. Comments are closed.
