Christopher Mark Weaver, 39, of New Danville Pike, Lancaster, PA died unexpectedly in Boston, MA on Friday, April 17, 2015 while representing his employer, Adidas, at the Boston Marathon. He and his wife, Melanie S. Ruhl Weaver celebrated 14 years of marriage in August 2014. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of Mark M. and Vivian L. Bechtold Weaver of Lancaster. A 1994 graduate of Penn Manor High school, he also attended Lancaster Bible College. He was employed as a sales lead manager for Adidas and was also self- employed as a sub-contractor in the carpentry field. Chris was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, Peach Bottom and had been an active with Boy Scouts of America, Order of Arrow, where he was certified in marksmanship. Chris served his country in the US Marine Corp graduating from Paris Island Marine Corp Base Camp in 1996.
Chris had many varied hobbies and enjoyments. He enjoyed watching the Eagles and Phillies, bike riding, hunting, fishing, fantasy sports leagues, Rawlinsville Camp Meeting, collecting sneakers, and playing sports. But first and foremost was spending time with his family, as he was a loving husband, father and son. Surviving beside his wife and parents are 4 children, Benjamin, Joseph, Jackson, Leah; a sister, Kara (Scott) Klimko of Virginia Beach, VA; a brother, Justin Weaver and companion Roz Crandall of Camp Hill, PA; a maternal grandmother Edith Bechtold of Lancaster; a paternal grandmother, Catharine Weaver of Lititz. Funeral services will be held at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, 1530 Slate Hill Road, Peach Bottom, PA on Friday, April 24, 2015 at 11:00AM with Pastor Cheryl Zegers officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Zion United Methodist Cemetery. Viewings will be held at the church on Thursday, from 6:30-9:00PM and again on Friday from 10:00AM until the time of service.
