Linna B. Eller of Peach Bottom died at Ware Presbyterian Village, Oxford, on Tuesday, November 12, 2013. She was 86. Mrs. Eller was born in Chilhowie, Va., a daughter of the late Walter J. and Mary Caudell Pickle. She was a member of the Baptist View Church, Jarrettsville, Md. She had also been a member of the Tucquan Lions Club. Mrs. Eller enjoyed cooking, gardening, caring for others, and spending time with her family. Paul Robert Barnett of Rivervue Dr., Drumore, died in Lancaster General Hospital on Thursday, November 7, 2013. He was 69.
Mr. Barnett was born in Millinocket, Maine, a son of the late Charles and Winifred Grevious Barnett. Barbara L. King, of Holtwood, died on Monday, November 4, 2013, at Lancaster General Hospital from injuries sustained in a vehicle accident. She was 21.
Miss King was the daughter of Levi B. and Salina Lapp King. She was a parochial school teacher. She was a member of the Old Order Amish Church. Harry E. Ritter Sr. of Quarryville died in Lancaster General Hospital on Thursday, November 7, 2013. He was 83. Mr. Ritter was born in Philadelphia, a son of the late Arthur and Anne Scarlet Ritter.
Livia Mary Giordano of the Philadelphia Protestant Home died at home on Wednesday, November 6, 2013. She was 87. Mrs. Giordano was born in Montenero Di Bisaccia, Italy, a daughter of the late Nicola Zappitelli and Josephine Grifone Zappitelli. She lived in Kirkwood before moving to Philadelphia. Douglas McArthur Owens, died unexpectedly at home on Tuesday, November 5, 2013. He was 71. He was the loving husband of Jane Kunkel Owens, with whom she spent 31 wonderful years. Mr. Owens was born in Birchleaf, Virginia, was the son of the late Frances Boyd and Issac Boyd. He was a graduate of Centreville High School in Centreville, Maryland in 1960. Following 40 years of service, he retired from High Steel Structures, Inc. in 2003. Pauline "Polly" E. Rineer, of New Providence, passed away on Tuesday, November 5, 2013, at Hospice and Community Care, Mt. Joy. She was 80. Polly was born in Lancaster, a daughter of the late Oliver and Mabel Gebhart Fitzkee. She worked over the years at Darrenkamp's Market, Bird-In-Hand Bakery and Penn Dairies. Polly was a member of S.L.C.F.S.A., and enjoyed traveling, her horses and dogs, horseback riding, and was a longtime member of the Valley Lea Riding Club in Drumore. James R. Angeline, of Peach Bottom, died at his home surrounded by his family on Monday, November 4, 2013. He was 82. "Jimmy" as he was lovingly known, was born in Drumore, son of the late John and Madeline Angeline. He and is wife, Betty Jean has celebrated 36 years of marriage in May. He was a Corporal in the U.S. Army, where he was stationed in Germany. Following his service term he became a welder, working at the former Port Deposit Shipyard. Jimmy went to work at the Burnham Corp. in Lancaster. After retirement, he worked for the Solanco School District, where he oversaw maintenance of the athletic fields. He was a member of St. Catherine Catholic Church and the Chestnut Level Hunting Camp. He loved to fish, hunt and collect coins. |
