Fannie S. King, age 61, of 1619 Robert Fulton Highway, Quarryville, passed away on Tuesday, October 20, 2020 at her home.
She was the wife of Emanuel J. King. Born in Soudersburg, she was the daughter of the late David K. and Elsie Stoltzfus Fisher, and step-daughter of the late David B. King. Fannie was a member of the Old Order Amish Church. Robert C. “Bob” Rabenau, 81, of Willow Street and The Villages, Florida, entered into rest on Saturday, October 17, 2020 at Hospice and Community Care. Born in Pottsville, he was the son of the late Allan H. and Anne (Brown) Rabenau. He was the loving husband of Lucinda “Cindy” (Brown) Rabenau for 13 years. Bob was a graduate of Pottsville High School, Palmer College of Chiropractic and had operated Rabenau Chiropractic Offices in Willow Street for 48 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was a member of the North Lake Presbyterian Church in Lady Lake, Florida, where he was an active volunteer in Operation Home Bound, providing meals for area shut-ins. Walter Scott Bunting IV, age 68, of Colora, MD, died Monday October 12, 2020 at home with his family.
To his wife, children, and most who knew him, he was Scott. As a child, he was known by Ted. He was born and grew up in North East, MD. Scott graduated in 1970 from Westtown School, PA. He served on active duty in the US Navy from 1972-1976, earning a National Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal for Service. After serving in the Navy, he joined the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, where over 30 years, he worked as a Survey Chief on the Linthicum, surveying the Chesapeake Bay, and as a CADD Engineer in Baltimore. He was a devoted husband of 27 years to Kari Bunting, loving father to Ryan Bunting and Christine Bunting and a faithful friend to many. He loved sailing his Hobie 18 Magnum Catamaran, riding his Gold Wing, and genealogical research, which led to a coast-to-coast trip on his motorcycle in 2015, retracing his grandfather's 1915 trip in a Model-T. Elsie M. Hundley, of Quarryville, and formerly of Strasburg, died at Hospice and Community Care, Mt. Joy, PA following a brief illness, on Sunday, October 18, 2020, one day after her 91st birthday. She was the wife of the late Andrew S. “Bud” Hundley. Born in Philadelphia she was the daughter of the late William and Elsie Kaelin Lambert. Elsie retired from Havertown Printing where she had been employed in the billing department for many years. Active in her church, she was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Strasburg, where she participated in Sarah Circle, Stitchin Sisters, Fair Ladies, Widows Group and as a Deacon. Harold Adam Ross, 99, of Quarryville, passed away on Tuesday, October 13, 2020, in Lancaster. He was the husband of Anna E. Witmer Ross for over 72 years. Born in Quarryville he was the son of the late Ira I. and Mary Bleacher Ross. An area resident all his life he worked well into his 80's driving truck. He delivered milk for Jake Nissley Company and delivered feed for A.L. Herr & Brothers, J. W. Eshleman & Sons and retired from Carnation. Harold enjoyed gardening and fox hunting. He was the Houndsman for the Andrews Bridge Fox Hunting Club and was a member of the Wakefield Bible Church. Laura T. Levering, 59, of Willow Street, formerly of Peach Bottom, died Friday, October 910/13/2020
Laura T. Levering, age 59, of Willow Street, PA, passed away on Friday, October 9, 2020. She previously lived in Peach Bottom, PA. She was born in West Chester, PA, daughter of the late Carl (Joe) & Jean Suloff Levering. She was a member of the Christ Covenant Church of Conestoga. She was a 1979 graduate of Solanco High School and had a degree in Art from a Correspondence school in New York. She enjoyed being a live-in Nanny for multiple family members and friends. Her main hobby besides children, was dedicated to horses, John Wayne and James Arness! She had a forever crush on Sam Elliott. Her crazy love for all westerns drove many people NUTS! Marian L. King, 93, of Atglen, PA, passed away at her home on Thursday, October 8, 2020. She was the beloved wife of Naaman E. King with whom she celebrated 68 years of marriage on December 6th. Marian was the daughter of the late Noah & Metta Martin Steffy of Bareville, Pa. She was an active member in the sewing circle of the Parkesburg Mennonite Church and a loved Sunday School Teacher in the churches she attended through her lifetime. Marian worked as a draftsman for N. E. Martin in Leola and spent a year at Eastern Mennonite College. She worked with her husband on their potato and dairy farm and was the first one he called to fix machinery that broke down. Margaret R. Bakun, age 98, formerly of Ronks, passed away at Conestoga View on Wednesday, October 7, 2020. She was the wife of the late John M. Bakun, who passed away on September 24, 2007. She was born in Bath, PA, daughter of the late Jethrow J. Sr., & Mary Ellen Deveraux James. She was of the Catholic faith and was know as a prayer warrior. She enjoyed gardening, quilting, crocheting, knitting and her cats. In the past she volunteered at the New Holland Reuzit Shop. At Conestoga View she was a member of the Golden Girls and enjoyed the activities and going on bus trip sponsored by the home. Lillian L. She was the wife of the late Thornton L. "T.L." Fletcher, who passed away on February 27, 2013. She was born in Spotsylvania, VA, daughter of the late Lawrence & Lillian Mae Sullivan Hicks. She was a founding member of the Belmont Baptist Church, where in the past she was a Sunday School Teacher. She enjoyed fishing, flowers, birds, gardening, crocheting, sewing, crafts, cooking and most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family. Ellen Rohrer Musser, 98, formerly of Holtwood, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 6, 2020 at the Mennonite Home, Lancaster. She was the wife of the late Abner G. Musser, Jr. who passed away in 2016. They celebrated and enjoyed 70 years together. Born in Paradise, she was the daughter of the late John H. and Emma Brackbill Rohrer. Ellen was a faithful member of Chestnut Level Presbyterian Church where she taught Sunday School for many years. During WWII she worked at the former Hamilton Watch Company in Lancaster assisting with wartime efforts. When her children were small, Ellen returned to school and began her career as a beautician owning her own business, Ellen's Beauty Nook. She enjoyed traveling, decorating and sewing, was involved with 4-H, and loved spending time at Rehoboth Beach. Ellen spent time studying her Bible and sharing what she learned with many. |
