Matthew Scott Osborne, 35, of Peach Bottom, passed away on Tuesday, October 8, 2019. Born in Peach Bottom, he was the son of Scott N. and Beth E. (Mellinger) Osborne. Matthew was a graduate of Solanco High School, class of 2002. After high school, he worked for Quebecor Printing as a press operator. In addition to his parents, he is survived by a son, Zaiden John Osborne; brother and sister-in-law, Mark S. and Crystal (Smith) Osborne, of Lancaster; and a sister, Sarah E. Osborne, of Quarryville. He is also survived by his paternal grandmother, Virginia May (Dowell) Osborne, of New Providence. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Cordus O. “Corky” Osborne, and maternal grandparents, Walter D. and Florence E. (Getz) Mellinger. On Wednesday, October 2, 2019, God reached down and took Kevin Michael DeLong's hand and for the very first time, Kevin walked into the arms of his Heavenly Father. Kevin was born on January 6, 1993 to Gerald C. and Alma A. DeLong. Against all the odds of a rare gene-linked brain malformation, Lissencephaly, Kevin blessed his family, many doctors, therapists and numerous nurses over his 26 years, 8 months and 26 days of life. He fought bravely against every challenge he faced with an incredibly strong will to live. Kevin loved being outside for long walks, listening to all kinds of music, especially his brother's violin playing. He also loved playing his drums, bells and switch toys and enjoyed someone sitting next to him to read him a story. Mihran Henry Ashodian, 95, formerly of New Providence, entered into rest at Southeastern Veterans Center in Spring City, PA on Wednesday, October 2, 2019. Born in Providence, Rhode Island, he was the son of the late Vahan and Sona (Bajagoulian) Ashodian. He was married to the late Nancy Ashodian who passed in 2003. Mihran was a veteran of the United States Navy. Throughout his life, he owned several businesses in the Philadelphia area. Mihran attended Crossway Church and loved spending time with his family, especially his many grandchildren. Daniel Edward Porter, 88, of Nottingham, entered into rest on Monday, September 30, 2019 at Coatesville VA Hospice Center.
Born in Steubenville, Ohio, he was the son of the late Otto and Edna (Madrid) Porter. He was preceded in death by his wife, Kim Porter who passed in 2006. Maurice Demmy “Marty” Waters, Jr., 85, of Mt. Airy Road, New Providence, PA passed away at his residence on Monday, September 30, 2019. He and his wife Betty Ann Rice Waters were married for 56 years. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Maurice D. and Mary Ruth Fitzgerald Waters. Upon moving to New Providence in the 1950’s, he spent a lifetime operating Waters Game farm. An avid outdoorsman, Marty enjoyed anything involving shooting and hunting. An excellent shooter and marksman, he was a member of Utilities Skeet Club and competed in skeet shooting both nationally and internationally. He tried out for the US Olympic trials in shooting. Russel L Neff, 73, a resident of Lancaster, PA, died Thursday afternoon from a lengthy illness.
Born August 22, 1946, he was the son of the late Cecil and Martha Neff. He had been active in the Willow Street Fire Company and Fire Police. |
