Enos K. Miller, age 78, of 5068 White Oak Road, Paradise, passed away on Wednesday, August 18, 2021.
He was the husband of Anna S. Fisher Miller and the late Rebecca K. Fisher Miller who died in 2011. Born in Witmer, he was the son of the late Christ S. and Sarah King Miller. Enos was a member of the Old Order Amish Church. Florence E. Henry, age 86 of Drumore, passed away at her home on Monday, August 16, 2021. She was the wife of the late Harold R. “Hup” Henry who passed on March 15, 2012. She was born in Drumore, daughter of the late Harry D. and Estella Trimble Burns. Florence was a member of Chestnut Level Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, especially roses, reading, antiquing, shopping, and animals. Sumie F. McCardell, 87, of Oxford, passed away on Saturday, August 14, 2021 at Twin Pines Health Care Center, West Grove.
She was the wife of the late John McCardell. Born in Oshima, Japan she was the daughter of the late Toro and Tochity Matsuyama. Sumie was a member of the Oxford Senior Center. She enjoyed being a homemaker, crocheting and planting flowers. Horace E. Graver, Jr., 86, of Quarryville, entered into rest on Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at Lancaster General Hospital after a brief illness. Born in Martic Twp., he was the son of Horace Sr., and Anna Mae (Miller) Graver. He was the loving husband of the late Ruby F. (Neff) Graver for 66 years at the time of her passing on August 16, 2020. Horace was a lifelong farmer and had also worked as a molder for Lancaster Malleable and the Buck Company. He drove bus for the Solanco School District and had driven truck for Powl Feeds for over 23 years. He was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church. Horace was a John Deere enthusiast and collector. He also enjoyed hunting, going to tractor pulls and spending time with his family. Brianna Sue Kyle, 14, of Park Lane, Lincoln University, PA died Monday, August 16, 2021 at her residence of natural causes. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of William Randall Kyle of Peach Bottom and Brenda Lee Davis-Townsend wife of Michael Townsend of Lincoln University, PA. Brianna enjoyed many things in life and lived them to the fullest. She enjoyed reading, cooking full course meals, drawing, arts and crafts, painting, music, playing soccer, skateboarding, and old Ford Pickup trucks. She loved the book and TV series “Super Natural”. Two of Brianna’s qualities was her bluntness and honesty. Joseph A. Chilletti, 80, of Citrus Springs, FL, entered into rest at his home on Saturday, August 7, 2021. Born in Binghamton, NY, he was the son of the late Anthony and Mary (Martinek) Chilletti and brother of the late Vicky Bilbrey. Joseph was widowed from his beloved wife of 48 years, Barbara in 2016, while residing at their home in PA. Joseph spent 3 years in the United States Army where he served in both Vietnam and Korea. After being honorably discharged Joseph began working as an engineer for IBM in Binghamton, NY. Jose Antonio “Tony” Ortega, 93, of Oxford, PA passed away on Wednesday, August 11, 2021 in Twin Pines Nursing Home, West Grove, PA. He was the husband of Nancy Brown Ortega with whom he shared 58 years of marriage. Born in Naranjito, Puerto Rico he was the son of the late Claudio and Guadalupe Torres Ortega. Tony was employed with Paramount Nursery in Kelton for 51 years before retiring in 2002. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Oxford. He enjoyed gardening, especially roses. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Anna Boyd Morris, formerly of Peach Bottom, PA died August 12, 2021. She was the wife of William Howard Morris. She was a retired secretary and after retirement she worked with Translational Medicine Group, PC of North Bethesda, MD, Ann L. Johnson LLC, and Integrative Medicine Consults, LLC, Georgetown, PA. She was born in Peach Bottom on July 26, 1942, a daughter of the late Lewis Smith and Cora Flahart Boyd. Elizabeth Ruth Barnett was born on May 19, 1956, in Lancaster, PA to parents Genevia and Leo Barnett. On Saturday, July 31, 2021, Elizabeth transitioned peacefully, surrounded, and supported by her family, following a brief but courageous battle with colon and liver cancer. Elizabeth (or as she was affectionately known to family and friends, Butchie) graduated from Oxford Area High School in 1974. In high school, Elizabeth excelled as an all-around athlete and fierce competitor in Varsity Basketball and Tennis. After high school, Elizabeth continued to compete in various community leagues in volleyball and softball. Elizabeth was a key member of the championship-winning Coastal Cardinals. Always up for any challenge, Elizabeth worked as a skilled machinist at ATACS Antenna Corporation and was a cable installer for Comcast. But it was her work with the intellectually disabled community that revealed her true talent in working with others. Her strict hand and nurturing demeanor made her a standout at Impact Systems, where she served as the Supervisor of 3 community living sites. For 21 years, Elizabeth supervised a sheltered workshop at HandiCrafters in Thorndale, PA where she often ran the workshop as well as catered the food for the cafeteria. Betty Jane (Furches) Potter, 82, of West Grove, PA, passed away on Saturday, August 7, 2021 peacefully at home surrounded by her family. Betty married Junior Worth Potter from NC, with whom she shared 65 years of marriage. Born in Mt. City, TN she was the daughter of the late Albert and Annie Irene May Furches. She was employed with NVF, Kennett Square for 22 years. Betty enjoyed gardening, flea markets and blue grass music. She leaves behind a son, Wayne Potter of Cochranville; one granddaughter, Brandi Lee Potter; three sisters, Lucille Jennings, Janice Humphry and Willia Jennings all of Mt. City, TN; and four brothers, Albert Furches, Dayton Furches both of NC, Timothy Furches and James Furches both of Mt. City, TN. |
