Eileen J. Sanita, 75, of Lampeter, PA, passed away August 8, 2017. She was the wife of Richard J. Sanita. They had celebrated 53 years of marriage. Eileen was born in Manhattan, NY, a daughter of the late George and Margaret Cooper Lake. For Eileen, her family was her life. At a young age, she was forced to quit school to take care of her family, however later returned to graduate from High School, then on to NYU to graduate. She was the rock of her family, active in all of her children’s and grandchildren’s activities, regardless of the obstacle of not always living close to all of her family. Dorothy E. Hess, 91, of Schoolhouse Road, New Providence, PA died Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at Hospice and Community Care, Mt. Joy, PA. She was the widow of Joseph Leroy Hess who died May 24, 2013. Born in Strasburg, she was the daughter of the late George A. and Myrtle Shissler Eager. Retired from cleaning services, she had been employed by the Host Resort. She was a member of New Providence Church of God. Joseph D. “Joe” Groff, 36, of Christiana, entered into rest on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at his home. Born in Lancaster County, he was the son of the late John and Sarah (Stauffer) Groff. He is survived by his loving wife of 8 years, Angela (Shore) Groff. Joe was a Solanco graduate and was the owner/operator of Noble Electric. He enjoyed crabbing on the Elk River, playing quoits and spending time with family and friends. He also loved playing with his dogs, Stanley, Ralphie, and Cayla. Susan B. Henry, 97, of Holtwood PA, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 8, 2017. She was the wife of the late Victor E. Henry Sr., who passed away in 2003. Susan had worked at the Hershey Garment Factory prior to getting married in 1941. Born in Baltimore, MD, the daughter of the late Park P. and Mary Hoffer Bryson. Susan was a member of Bethesda United Methodist Church, where she had been active in the woman’s society. She enjoyed being a homemaker, craft work, and canning. She is survived by 2 sons, Victor E. Henry, Jr., and Brian K. Henry (Tina Hecker), both of Holtwood. Jean E. R. Ressel, 98, formerly of Quarryville, entered into rest at the Masonic Village on Friday, August 4, 2017. Known to so many as “Aunt Jean” was born in Colerain Twp. on September 6, 1918 to the late J. Guy and Viella (Swisher) Roop. She was a 1934 graduate of Colerain High School and a 1935 graduate of Quarryville High School. Jean was married to Glenn Ressel in 1941 who preceded her in death in 1998 after 57 years of marriage. Jean was also preceded in death by 3 sisters, a brother, her foster daughter Helen wife of Paul Winters who is also deceased. She is survived by a granddaughter, Kathy Winters, wife of Paul Pontz of Lancaster. Glenn and Jean became an extra set of grandparents to Michael Trout, formerly of Quarryville and now to his wife, Courtney and their three precious grandchildren: Madison, Carter Glenn, and Amelia. She is also survived by a God-daughter, Jodi Seifert of Ephrata and several nieces and nephews. Jean holds a life membership of the Bart Fire Company Auxiliary. She has served as a past matron and member of the Robert Fulton Chapter #446 Order of the Eastern Star for over 50 years. Jean attended Colerain Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School and sang in the choir. She also served as a member of the Lancaster County Society of Farm Women # 15 & 20. Timothy J. Sheets, II, of Nottingham, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 2, 2017. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of Laurie Letterman of New Providence and Timothy J. Sheets of Nottingham. Tim enjoyed fishing, four wheeling, motorcycles, and hanging out with friends. Tina R. Seats, 32, of Quarryville, passed away on Wednesday, August 2, 2017. Born in Lancaster, PA, she was the daughter of Archie D. Seats, Sr. of Quarryville and the late Kimberly Ann Coram Seats. Tina was outgoing and loved life. She is survived by her father; one son, Nicholas Alexander Rodriguez; and one brother, Archie D. Seats, Jr. all of Quarryville. |
