Edith J. Long, 83, of Peach Bottom, passed away on Sunday, June 25, 2017 at Jennersville Regional Hospital, West Grove.
She was the husband of the late George C. Long. Born in Paradise, PA she was the daughter of the late Wilmer F. and Martha Keanagy McGinnis. Edith attended Leacock Presbyterian Church, Paradise. She enjoyed reading and her flower garden. Jean Demboski, 74, formerly of Quarryville, PA passed away on Sunday, June 18, 2017, at Fairmount Homes, Ephrata, PA. Born in Darby PA, a daughter of the late William S. and Dorothy E. Stegemerten Founds. Jean had worked in the physical therapy profession for most of her working career. Eleanor “Elly” McComsey, 74, of West Lampeter Twp., entered into rest on Sunday, June 11, 2017 at her home. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late, Charles, Sr. and Mary (Cougle) Magsamen. She was the loving wife of Donald L. McComsey for 45 years. Elly had worked as an independent distributor for GNLD International. She enjoyed sitting by her pond and feeding the Coy. She was a member of West Willow United Methodist Church. Elly also enjoyed flower gardening and taking trips to Ocean City, Maryland. In addition to her husband, she is survived by 4 sons: Mark J., husband of Wendy McComsey of Quarryville; David McComsey of Marietta; Dale, husband of Judy McComsey of Birdsboro; and Dean, husband of Barb McComsey of Refton. Also surviving is a brother, Charles L., Jr. husband of Wanda Magsaman of Fawn Grove. Ruth B. Bair, 99, of Quarryville, PA, formerly of Strasburg, passed away on Monday, June 26, 2017 at QPRC. She was the widow of the late Tedford L. Bair, who passed away in 1990. Ruth had been employed as a book keeper for Armstrong Co, the former First National Bank of Strasburg, and the Choo-Choo Barn. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Strasburg. Ruth had also been a member of the Paul Strubel VFW Post Auxiliary, Strasburg Auxiliary for Lancaster General Hospital, Strasburg Senior Citizens, and Lancaster Chapter #501 Order of the Eastern Star. In her younger years, Ruth was an avid softball player where she played for the Strasburg Women’s Team, and was selected for the County All-Star Team, Northern Lights. |
