Marian E. Cochran of Oxford died at Brandywine Hospital, Coatesville, on Tuesday, July 9, 2013. She was 78.
Mrs. Cochran was born in Philadelphia, a daughter of the late William Harry and Elizabeth J. Somogyi Yingling. She owned and operated the Art Bin and Gallery, Oxford. Brenda E. Blevins of Wyncroft Ln., Lancaster, died at Lancaster General Hospital on Monday, July 8, 2013. She was 55. Ms. Blevins was the daughter of Joyce Kilby Belvins and the late Clarence Blevins. She lived in Peach Bottom before moving to Lancaster. She worked as a licensed practical nurse at Ware Presbyterian Villae, Oxford, and more recently at the Mechanic Grove Church of the Brethren daycare center and at the House of the Lord, Willow Street. April Marie Boyd of Nottingham died Thursday, July 4, 2013, from injuries she sustained in a vehicle accident. She was 23. Miss Boyd was born in West Chester, a daughter of Joseph Boyd Sr. of Leola and Lola Jean Trivett Boyd of Nottingham. She was a 2008 graduate of Solanco High School and the Schilling-Douglas School of Hair Design of Wilmington, Del. Miss Boyd had worked for Texture Salon in Oxford. Julia E. Strubel of Conestoga died at Lancaster General Hospital on Tuesday, July 2, 2013. She was 86. Mrs. Strubel was born in Quarryville, a daughter of the late Lester and Mary Irvin Rhoads. She worked for Exide Company, Lampeter, until she retired. Mrs. Strubel enjoyed cooking, crocheting, and gardening. She was a member of Middle Octorara Presbyterian Church. Thomas W. Parker Sr. of Sproul Rd., Kirkwood, died at home of natural causes on Friday, June 28, 2013. He was 66. Mr. Parker was born in Darby, a son of the late Edward R. and Marie McNeil Parker. During the Vietnam War, he served in the U.S. Army. He was a plumber and pipefitter who last worked for his son's business, Parker Welding. Mr. Parker was a member of the Atglen Gun Club and the Southern Lancaster County Farmer Sportsmen's Association. Harold A. "Kippy" Kipphorn Sr. of Old Holtwood Rd., Holtwood, died at Lancaster General Hospital on Saturday, June 29, 2013. He was 74. Mr. Kipphorn was born in Conestoga Township, a son of the late John Jacob and Grace Viola Eichley Kipphorn. He worked as a station mechanic for PPL for 35 years, retiring in 1995. After he retired from PPL, he worked as a delivery man for Cash and Carry Electric, Quarryville. |
